Having Fun at Casa Loma Toronto Wedding Venue

The best Toronto wedding photography matches the personality of the bride and groom. An extroverted couple will have an extroverted wedding. A shy couple will have a more subdued wedding, When we first meet with a couple we talk about the type of imagery the couple would like. Some couples only want candids with few shots of family groupings. Others place an emphasis on family groupings. Some brides want serious shots of their wedding dresses, while other brides aren’t so interested. Blended families are often very keen on having many shots of their kids, especially with grandparents. We are sensitive to the vision of the couple and since we are very experienced, we can be versatile in our photographic approach. Our shots can range from playful and candid to exquisitely semi-formal. We recently shot a wedding at Casa Loma, a Toronto wedding venue and tourist destination. Fun was the operative word. How could it not be when the groom could barely contain his happiness! We loved shooting off the cuff. We had loads of fun as did the couple and their wedding party. We especially loved the Corvette. What a great prop!

The Fifth Grill and Terrace Wedding Venue

The Fifth Grill and Terrace on Richmond Street West in downtown Toronto was the spectacular site for a recent winter wedding photographed by our Toronto wedding photographers. The bride and groom chose The Fifth for their reception and our Toronto wedding photographers for their photographs. The venue was urban, yet elegant, funky and sophisticated. Guests enjoyed a pre-dinner reception on the spacious main floor while the bride and groom and the wedding party relaxed in another area – the venue’s bar, complete with rawhides on the walls and rough barn board siding. There was even a moose head looking down at the activities from its position near the bar! We had a great time taking photographs both at The Fifth and earlier at The Ritz-Carlton Toronto where the bride got ready. The shot of the bride on the glass bridge in the lobby of the hotel is beautiful. Wedding photography in Toronto is always exciting since there are so many inspirational locations at great venues.

Groomsmen are the unsung heroes of weddings. On the wedding day, their job is to help make it easy for their friend, the groom, to make the transition from being a bachelor to being a husband. And they do it with great patience, humour and affection. Our Toronto wedding photographers have a relaxed approach that helps groomsmen to have fun during the day. At a recent wedding at the Westin Prince Hotel in uptown Toronto, we created a documentary narrative of Jeff’s groomsmen doing what most do at weddings – waiting, and also having fun!

Roger Vivier Exhibition at the Bata Shoe Museum

Well, what could be more wonderful than photographing the creative work of the 20th century great French shoe designer Roger Vivier! Heartline Pictures was asked by Toronto’s Bata Shoe Museum to photograph Vivier’s shoes for an upcoming exhibition. Vivier is the inventor of the stiletto heel. His shoes are considered to be the “Faberge of shoe design”. His shoes have been worn by notable celebrities including the actress Ava Gardner and Queen Elizabeth. For a decade, from 1953 to 1963, Vivier designed shoes for the great fashion designer Christian Dior. We have worked with the Bata Shoe Museum on many of its exhibitions, and we have to say that it is an amazing rush working with shoes that once belonged to the likes of the Beatles. The Roger Vivier exhibition opens this spring. You can see our work both in the exhibition and in the exhibition catalogue. Toronto Wedding Photography at the Toronto Hunt Club

Toronto is an amazing green city with thousands of acres of public and private parkland. Beautiful venues with outdoor ceremony and reception areas can be found in every corner of the city. One of our favourites is the Toronto Hunt Club, a private golf club on Lake Ontario in south Scarborough where we recently photographed Melissa and Teddy’s wedding. Imagine being married outside, with a beautiful blue lake behind you. Our Toronto wedding photographers agree that the Toronto Hunt Club is a venue that inspires creativity. The rooms where the bride and her attendants dress have windows facing the lake, letting in some of the most beautiful light. Photographers love light and shadow and our photographers have taken some of the most exquisite photographs of brides in front of these windows using the natural light that spills into the room.

Bride Honours Mother at Vaughan Estate Wedding

Deborah honoured her mother by wearing her mother’s traditional red Chinese wedding gown and carrying the very same umbrella her mother did many years earlier at her own wedding. The ceremony was held on the grounds of the beautiful Vaughan Estate at the Estates of Sunnybrook in Toronto. Deborah and Tony were incredibly happy, and a pleasure to photograph for our Toronto wedding photographers. Blending traditional and contemporary wedding customs can be a challenge, but with creativity, sensitivity and love the end results last a lifetime. We are incredibly lucky to live and work in one of the world’s most multicultural cities. Our Toronto wedding photographers have photographed hundreds of south-Asian, global community and blended weddings. Our knowledge of the different customs and religious practices means that our wedding photography is a true record of the wedding day for the couple.

Toronto Wedding Show at the Carlu

Amazing how quickly a year flies by. Once again, we are looking forward to being a part of the upscale The Wedding Co. wedding show, which is being held this weekend in Toronto at the historic and beautiful Carlu event venue. We are very proud to be the only Toronto wedding photography company that was involved in the very first show, and every year since then. Previously, Catherine Lash, the founder of The Wedding Co., worked as a photographer for Heartline Pictures, our boutique Toronto wedding photography company. She had a vision for starting a wedding show of high end and hand selected suppliers. From that very humble start she has grown The Wedding Co. to the premiere wedding event today. Congratulations Catherine!
